WHAT

Learn from the best in an authentic, artistic setting:

The Leopardi Writing Conference in Udine, Italy is an immersive program for new and experienced writers led by a faculty of award-winning and bestselling authors as well as accomplished visiting publishing industry professionals. The conference offers workshops, craft talks, and one-on-one editing sessions in four sections:  (1) fiction, (2) nonfiction, (3) mystery/thriller, and (4) a rotating “special topics” workshop, which in 2026 will be “late bloomers.” Attendees are also offered the opportunity to meet with prominent New York City literary agents.

Founded in 2018, the Leopardi Conference originated in Recanati, Italy, the birthplace of writer and poet Giacomo Leopardi, a key influence on the development of Romanticism in Europe.  Since then, the conference, like its namesake, travels throughout Italy, anchoring in small, inspiring towns that allow attendees to experience authentic Italy in a rich, artistic environment.

During the conference you will have the opportunity to receive expert feedback on your writing project, and get to know your fellow writers, including the distinguished members of our faculty.

TUITION

Tuition for the Leopardi Writers Conference 2026 is $2,000. For detailed information on tuition, learn more here.
